Text Box: ‘The New Totalitarians: Bosnia as a Mirror of America’s Future’ by Dr. Gerald L. Atkinson This book (published in 1996) was cited by ADM Thomas H. Moorer, USN (Ret.) in an Op-Ed piece (1 Sept ’96, The Washington Times) as the basis for a direct attack on the Clinton presidency before the 1996 election. RADM C.A. ‘Mark’ Hill, Jr. USN (Ret.), USNA class of 1944, reviewed the book in the 1997 Spring/Summer issue of ANA’s ‘Wings of Gold.’ These two World War II and Cold War heroes believe that this book is a must read for all concerned Americans. They believe that the U.S. Navy is going down the drain – while we sleep! Approximately one-third of this 266-page book with over 1160 references deals with the disintegration of naval aviation since the 1991 Tailhook ‘scandal.’ This book is particularly salient now because the Army and the U.S. Air Force are heading down the same path (precipitated by the Aberdeen sex ‘scandals’ and the LT Kelly Flinn affair) taken by the Navy in the wake of a determined radical feminist attack on this vital institution. The author, Dr. Gerald L. Atkinson, appeared on three mainstream national cable programs dedicated to the review of this book. These programs have been incorporated into a special video. This video addresses ADM Jeremy Boorda’s suicide, political correctness in the U.S. military, and the ‘Next Revolution,’ which deals with the 1996 riots in St. Petersburg, FL and their implication for the future of the United States in light of similar conflicts in other parts of the world, namely Bosnia. This book makes the linkage of incidents like the recent riots in U.S. cities to the factors that led to the chaotic disintegration of the former Yugoslavia. This 102-minute video exhaustively summarizes the main aspects of the book. This important new book and the summary video reveal the real reason behind ADM Boorda’s suicide and the concomitant disintegration of naval aviation under the present affirmative action regime for women and minorities. Each is a metaphor of increasing complexity for the potential collapse of American civilization – all caused by a complete breakdown of trust. This book is a cautionary tale. We need not continue on the current course to a chaotic disintegration, either in the U.S. military or in our democracy. But time is short.
